Known as the Pearl of the Andaman, Phuket enriched much of its former glory and its enormous wealth from tin production, which dates back over 500 year. Today, Phuket is the country's major tourist attraction. The surrounding waters contain much varied marine life and the island itself is blessed with lovely seashores and forested hillsides. Approximately 1.75 million Rai of the island is forest. Phuket Town also has some wonderful examples of Sino-Portugese architecture. The dream of escaping to an idyllic tropical island becomes a reality on Phuket; Thailand's southern paradise.

Phuket Town is interesting for its surviving examples of old Sino-Portuguese architecture - reminders of the island's long and interesting history - and for its shopping and entertainment possibilities. especially on Dibuk Road, have old wooden doors with Chinese fretwork carving.

Sapan Hin Mining Monument A land reclamation project provided abundant new land now used for parks and public facilities at Sapan Hin. In the circle is the Tin Mining Monument, shaped like a large drill bit, dedicated to the memory of Captain Edward Thomas Miles, the Australian who brought the first tin dredge to Phuket in 1909.

Wat Chalong This is where stands the cast statue of Luang Por Cham, who helped the people of Phuket put down the Angyee, or Chinese Coolie Rebellion, in 1876 during the reign of Rama V. There are also statues of Luang Por Chaung, and Luang Por Gluam, abbots of the temple during later times.

Lam Prom Thep Adjacent to Nai Han Beach, Phuket’ s southernmost point is the perfect place from which to view spectacular Sunset.

Rang Yai Island is a remarkably beautiful and quiet area with a lovely beach.

Kai Nok Island , a fairly isolated island with only one or two groups visiting a day. There is a great live coral reef which is suitable for snorkeling. The island is uninhabited and quite small with a beach on either side of the island.
